$682.50

Thats how much I have officially raised. Thank you to everyone who has donated to date. I just had cross training today...not bad at all :) I went to The League Chiropractic Clinic this morning (I heard about them through team training). Dr.Chad was super cool and the clinic is so laid back. They combine techniques to target the three main components of running injuries (biomechanics, neurological, and soft tissue components) and help people recover quickly. All I can say is today was so cool. I watched numerous people walk in limping and after a 15 minute session with Dr.Chad they were walking better already. What he does is so cool and I am excited to keep going back :) Have a wonderful night everyone

Shut Up!

Everyone who came into contacted with this AMAZING duo wanted to fleet the scene as fast as possible....apparently we were to peppy for this very SERIOUS hot mud run. Not that we cared. I love the mud run...and would do it again with my fabulous Aunt. Love ya bitchy badass cheerleader :)

Hello San Diego

Another beautiful sunny morning in San Diego. I ran the Camp Pendleton Mud Run yesterday. It was so much fun. The three mile hill was definitely I little killer and went on forever...as everyone warned. We got super dirty and wet...but in the words of Christina, "people look so sexy when they're wet." I love you Aunt Christina!! Run my seven miler on Thursday this past week and 6.1 miles in the 10K mud run yesterday. Training is coming along great....trying to really stretch so I don't injure myself. Hope all is well with everyone :)

The Best Kinda High

So first off I know I have been gone for a week and I'm sorry...school has been crazy with finals, but I can now say that I have finished my FRESHMAN YEAR OF COLLEGE.....yayyyy :) Now that most of the stress is gone I can focus on training and working until summer school starts.
We had our team run at Road Runner Sports this morning. Bright and early at 8AM...let me just say running is probably the best cure to a long night partying. I know getting up early and running just does not sound appealing after a crazy night, but trust me it works wonders :)
I ran 5 miles today at a solid 9 minute mile pace (which is decent considering I haven't ran in forever). After our run we had a clinic on shoes and boy did I need it. From day one they told us not to wear cotton shoes...but you know me I gotta learn it the hard way. After a week of running in cotton socks I have blisters on top of blisters and have adequately learned my lesson. Maybe it is time to start taking advice the second people (well at least the ones who know what they are talking about) give it to you.
After our clinic I went into road runner and lets just say they liked my business...hahha I finally made it out of there 2 and a half hours later with a new pair of running shoes, insoles, socks (not COTTON), two sports bras, a couple new shirts, some headbands, and a VIP membership. All i can say is...my money was well invested in a successful race.
Everyday I meet with the team I leave our sessions feeling like I am on cloud nine. This week was a testimony to how hard it is to run long distance by yourself. The motivation of my teammates and the whole atmosphere just makes the runs go by so much faster and so much fun. Last week I met Loren and her daughter (they live in Scripps) and we coordinated to do our mid-week runs together. I am so EXCITED...because five miles by yourself just gets boring and long.
Well I'm out for now...got to tend to the disaster of a room. I'll be back soon though I promise

What a Wonderful Life

Wow, is the only word that comes to mind when I think about today. I showed up to PB this morning for our first team run and wasn't really sure what to expect. After a lot of inspiring words and plenty of anticipation we stretched with our team and were off running. Mind you I haven't run in awhile so I wasn't sure how this run was gonna go. Half marathoners were suppose to be running 3 miles for intermediate runners. SO I started out and met this very nice lady...who happens to live in Scripps...and her daughter (who is going to Scripps High) who are training for the Nike and after running 4 miles today I was sold. I will now be running the Nike Full Marathon.....wish me luck! I got my training schedule today and met my coaches along with our team's honored teammate. His name is Kyle and he is 15. He is now in remission so hopefully he'll get better soon. His attitude and smile was definitely an inspiration and something I'll be thinking about when I am ready to give up. Anyways it was an amazing day and I can't wait for many more to come :)

It Has Begun

I got my first donation today from my lovely grandmom, Mom-mom Fanelle, so to her a huge thanks. My freshman year of college is coming to an end, all I have left are finalssss!!!! Ahhh what a relief it will be when they are over. My mentor, Art, called too and I am excited to train for the first time with the team on Saturday. I'll check back in after we train. I hope you all are having as fabulous a sunny day we are having here in San Diego. Love you all :)
